Howzit Cousins?  Labor Day weekend is almost here.  What better way to end the summer than with some delicious tropical drinks?  You don’t know the recipes.  Don’t worry all you need to do is pick up a copy of Beachbum Berry’s Grop Log. With 80 tropical drink recipes you are bound to find one you like. My goal is to try all of them.  If a rum and coke is your idea of a tropical book, you are in desperate need of this book. 

The WWE has suspended some wrestlers in a steroids investigation.  This comes as no surpise to me.  They have not named who was suspended.  I am sure it will come out sooner or later.

There aren’t enough tiki toys for kids.   The Neon Tiki Tribe is billed as “America’s First Non-Violent Tiki Heroes” 

I think they look like something from Veggie Tales but I will give the creator credit for making tiki themed toys.

Everyone’s favorite Wookie Chewbacca presented Nasa with Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber today.  The lightsaber is going on a space shuttle ride to commemorate Star Wars 30th Anniversary. 

The Discovery astronauts will have a little something extra in their gear when the space shuttle blasts off in October: Luke Skywalker’s original Jedi Lightsaber.

As part of the “Star Wars” 30th anniversary celebration, NASA has agreed to carry the prop weapon into orbit and jettison it in space.

You see a lot of people wearing hats and shirts that say Von Dutch.  I wonder how many people know who Von Dutch even was.  This should be required reading for anyone purchasing a Von Dutch trucker cap. 

I like seafood.  I do have concerns about overfishing.  Then there is the whole toxin concern.  I don’t want to have enough mercury in me to make me a human thermometer.  Nor do I want to bleed silver beads like the T-1000.   Although being a shape shifting cyborg would be kind of cool.  The good people at the Monteray Bay Aquarium have been kind enough to help to create a web page to answer most of your seafood questions.  It tells you which fish are best, good and the ones to avoid. 

This is one of the easiest drinks to make.   

1/2 pint of ale or lager (I like Bass Ale)

1/2 pint of cider (I usually use Strongbow as it is readily available at the local market)

Pour 1/2 pint of each into a beer mug and enjoy.  If you are trying to earn extra points for presentation you can always layer the drink.  I don’t bother.  The two drinks are very similar in color and in this case isn’t worth the effort. 

Type your digits into this site and it will tell you what your number spells.  If your number was 428-6947 when people ask for your number you could say “I bum zip” I am not sure what that means but hey what is easier to remember 428-6947 or “I bum zip”?

I know what lime tastes like.  I have never in my life tasted a cactus.  I thought they might be going for the beer/maragrita thing so maybe there is a taste of tequila in it.  Although tequila comes from the agave plant and that is not a cactus.  So maybe it is beer that tastes like lime and Saguaro cactus.  I would try it but I don’t know that I would like drinking a cactus.
