I had this drink for the first time in Hawaii.  I have found it on cruise ships as well but it was called a Bon Voyage on the ship.  Same drink, different name.

Here is the recipe so you can make it at home.

1 oz Light Rum

2 oz of Pineapple Juice

6 oz. Pina Colada Mix

1 oz Strawberry Puree

Grab your blender and mix the rum, pineapple juice and pina colada mix with one cup of ice.  Pour the strawberry puree into a hurricane glass.  Pour the blended drink mix into the glass.  Take a straw or spoon and pull the puree up from the bottom of the glass.  This will leave red streaks on the side of the drink.  That is the lava in the Lava Flow drink.

The Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak this weekend.  Last year I went outside to see the Perseid meteor shower.  I didn’t see a thing and got a stiff neck from looking up.  I better see something this year.
