This is a classic drink.  Martini’s came back big a few years ago.  I think this is going to be the next one to make a big comeback.  Here is the recipe:

• 3/4 oz. Sweet Vermouth
• 2 1/2 oz. Bourbon (I like Maker’s Mark but you can choose one to your taste)
• Dash Angostura Bitters (some recipes leave this out, the choice is yours)
• 2 or 3 Ice Cubes

Combine these ingredients in a mixing glass.  Stir gently making sure not to bruise the alcohol.  Pour the drink over a cherry in a martini glass.  If you want an added touch you can take an orange peel and rub the rim of the glass with the peel.
