If you are in downtown Orlando and are looking for a tiki bar you should check out Wai Tiki. It has plenty of tables and a small stage for live music. There are plenty of hand carved tiki’s from local carver Wayne Coombs. Artwork from Joe and Donatella Vitale decorate the walls. The prices are what you would expect from a downtown bar but the drink quality was good. The tiki drinks were served in tiki mugs which is a nice touch that you don’t see that often anymore. The music playing was decidedly not tiki. It was reggae the last time I was there. Points deducted for playing reggae in a tiki bar. I recommend going early. That way you beat the cover charge and the place can get crowded at night when the college kids come out to play. Critiki the source of all tiki bar knowledge gave it a 7.1. I would agree with that rating.
