While the temperature is still in the high 90’s every day here you know fall is approaching when Sam Adams Octoberfest hits the shelves and it has arrived. Offically Oktoberfest doesn’t start until 9/22 but what harm is there in starting the festivities earlier.

When I saw the headline I thought it was going to be some crazy story of an acupuncture treatment gone awry. The actual story is even more sinister.

A mother was arrested after she allegedly drove her son to a school to fight with members of a rival gang. Sophia Elam, 41, drove her 16-year-old son and several adults to Silverado High School to fight with gang members who had been threatening her son in an ongoing dispute.
You can’t say she isn’t involved in her sons life.
This drink isn’t as easy to make as some of the others that I have posted but it is worth it and I am sure you are up to the challenge.
1 1/2 oz of rum (I usually have Appleton Estate on hand but use what you have)
1 oz 151 (Yeah, it is going to be strong)
3/4 oz Orange Curacao
1/2 oz Orgeat Syrup
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice ( I repeat fresh lime juice)
2 oz Fresh Orange Juice (again I can’t stress enough the importance of fresh juice)
Pour all ingredients into a shaker. Shake, Shake , Shake. Strain and pour it into an ice filled glass. If you like to add garnish you can’t go wrong with an ornage or lime slice.
Warning: This is a strong drink. It is called a Suffering Bastard for a reason. Don’t blame me if this how you feel in the morning.
I haven’t seen it nor am I compelled to look for it but it seems there is a photo of High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens making its way around the internets and she is naked, really naked. As this happens all the time you think people would know better by now. I may write a book on the subject and I am going to call it “Tips and Tools for the Digital Age: Keep Your Damn Clothes On”
