Happy Thanksgiving

November 26th, 2008 by Mr. Mai Tai

Happy Thanksgiving.  I can’t remember who sent me this picture but it is very appropriate during this time of the year when many people are travelling.  Even Darth Vader- Dark Lord of the Sith has to wait in the TSA screening line. with his shoes off.

Guitar Hero World Tour

November 25th, 2008 by Mr. Mai Tai

After months of selling things on ebay I finally saved up enough money to buy Guitar Hero World Tour.  I bought the whole band kit- guitar, microphone and drums.  I love the new guitar.  It doesn’t make loud clicks when you strum so you can actually hear the music and not a bunch of loud clicks.  The drum set is another matter.  I have read about sensitivity issues and now I know first hand what everyone is talking about.  The three toms are fine but the cymbals are not sensitive enough.  You have to beat the hell out of them to get it to register.  I went to a few sites and found some DIY cures but most of them required taking the drums apart.  I am pretty sure that voids the warranty.  I went to the games website and found that they have a USB midi cable so you can adjust the sensitivity.  I placed my order and I am waiting for my cable.  I will let you know how that works out once it arrives.

Thanksgiving Drinks

November 17th, 2008 by Mr. Mai Tai

Many people ask me for drink recipes when it comes time to celebrate the holidays.  I can think of only one drink for Thanksgiving.  Wild Turkey.  I like to drink it on the rocks.  Take a sip and make some gobbling noises.  Vegetarians might turn their nose up at your cooked bird but I can assure you no turkey’s were harmed in the distilling of Wild Turkey.  Making this an inclusive beverage perfect for the holdiay.

Tikki Beach

November 10th, 2008 by Mr. Mai Tai

I was looking at the Hukilau 2009 site and saw that this year they are having a cruise on the Tikki Beach. It kind of looks like a barge that was converted into a a floating tiki bar. Definetly better than your usual booze cruise boat.  Well done to the creators of this tiki themed boat/barge/sailing vessel.

CSI: Miami

November 5th, 2008 by Mr. Mai Tai

Why are the streets always wet in CSI: Miami?  It is Miami so it is probably 95 degrees.  The sun is out.  No clouds in the sky.  Yet the streets are always wet.  This seems odd to me.  Is there some weather phenomena unique to Miami where the water on the streets never evaporates?
