Star Wars weekends is going strong at the Disney Hollywood Studios. Just in time for the event Disney released PVC figures of the muppets characters dressed as Star Wars Characters. I have not seen them yet but I wish they were 6″ action figures and not PVC figures.

I love this item. I had a Star Wars themed birthday when I was four. I wish these had been around. I would have loved ice cubes shaped like Han Solo in carbonite.

A few months ago I wrote about the Jedi Church some guys founded in England. I made a smart ass comment as I usually do about the Church of the Sith. I wasn’t far off the mark. It seems members were dueling with lightsabers when some drunk fool yelling “Darth Vader” attacked them. I knew the sith would eventually reveal themselves. It was being videoed so you can see it for yourself.

I can’t afford a life-size R2-D2 either. I want this too.

As a Star Wars fan I find this news very exciting.
A new era of Star Wars entertainment begins in 2008 when Star Wars: The Clone Wars, from creator George Lucas, premieres as an all-new feature film in August, followed by the television series debut in the fall, in a partnership announced today between Lucasfilm Ltd., Warner Bros. Pictures and Turner Broadcasting System Inc.
Produced by Lucasfilm Animation, Star Wars: The Clone Wars takes audiences on incredible new Star Wars adventures, combining the legendary storytelling of Lucasfilm with an eye-popping, signature animation style. Star Wars: The Clone Wars will open in North American theaters Friday, August 15. International release dates will be announced soon.

Two brothers in the UK are trying to form a Jedi church. The official name is the UK Church of the Jedi.

They say their services will include sermons on “the Force,” light sabre training, and meditation techniques.
Interesting. This is all well and good but the whole concept falls kind of flat without actual lightsabers and as hard as I try I have never been able to tap into the force and believe me I have tried. One time this beer can was just out of my reach. I stared at it for 20 minutes trying to get it to float to my hand. It never floated and in that 20 minutes it got warm. I don’t like warm beer so I had to get up and walk to the fridge to get a new cold one. The lesson I learned is that I don’t have the force and now my beer is warm. If I had picked it up sooner I wouldn’t have had to get up and walk to the fridge to get a new one.
My other concern is that it can only be a matter of time before someone starts their own Church of the Sith. Soon they will reveal themselves to the Jedi. Soon they will have their revenge.

Needa new pair of kicks? Then I suggest the Adidas Darth Vader or Yoda sneakers. They are a bit picey but can you put a price on Jedi Master and Sith footwear. I don’t think so.

I used to be a big fan of Tech Tv’s The Screen Savers. Then G4 swooped in and changed the show. Then it went through a complete overhaul and came back as Attack of the Show. In an effort to get the geeks excited about the show they added some eye candy with the introduction of Olivia Munn. Eye candy is fine but the show isn’t the same and I rarely if ever watch it any more. Geeks also like Slave Leia so I am sure they love her as the new host. If you want to see more Slave Leia’s check out Leia’s Metal Bikini There is a whole site devoted to the costume.
