Sonomax Hearing Protection

December 31st, 2007 by Mr. Mai Tai

Hearing protection equipment is a must in my job.  I work in a job where I am often subject to loud noises.  Noises loud enough that they could over time damage my hearing. Once a year I have to have my hearing tested to see if there are any signs of hearing loss.  Finding the right kind of hearing protection is the hard thing for me.  My work place supplies me with different forms of protection but they are not the best for me. There are the foam plugs but more often than not they just  don’t fit right. Then there are the over the ear style.  Sure they work but I live in Florida. It is like putting ear muffs on and that is no fun when it is 98 degrees out with 100% humidity. I was doing an internet search on noise reduction and I came across a great product from Sonomax. They make custom fit hearing protection. There is a lot of great information on their site. For instance “Noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) affects 30 million North American workers. It is recognized as the #1 occupational illness worldwide.” I totally believe this. I know plenty of guys who suffer from hearing loss. I do not want to end up like them.  In 20 years I want to be able to hear out of my own ears.  I don’t want to have to wear hearing aids.  Eventually it might come to this but I will do everything I can to prevent this from happening.  Like I said earlier the fit of the ear plus is essential. Sonomax offers custom fit plugs so you know they are sure to fit. Noise reduction headphones are great but like I said I work outdoors and they just are too hot. The Sonomax technology lets their earplugs create an acoustic seal that blocks out ambient noise. This is a must if you are in the music industry. Whether you need hearing protection for work or recreation you should check out Sonomax. Your ears will thank you.

Travelling to France

November 3rd, 2007 by Mr. Mai Tai

I like to travel.  I have never been to Europe and have been looking for places to visit for my next vacation.  One of the countries I know I want to see is France. I usually check the web during the planning stages of any trip. If I need France accomodations I will hit the web and see what places are available and the cost. I also like to read reviews of people that have stayed there. Sometimes you have to take them with a grain of salt but overall I find them helpful. When I go on the trip I always make sure I have a pocket travel guide. There are plenty to choose from so I know I will have a France travel guide with me too. The movie Eurotrip mentions Frommers a lot. Movies don’t steer you wrong so that might be a good one to look at. Planning the trip is usually one of my favorite things to do. It builds anticipation for the trip and gives yo something to do while you count the days down to your next vacation.

Red Scream Films Review

October 28th, 2007 by Mr. Mai Tai

I just watched Prison of the Psychotic Damned released by Red Scream Films LLC.  Here is the premise of the movie.    A train station closed years ago and like most old train stations it was converted into a prison for the criminally insane.  Fast forward to present time.  The first few minutes are incoherent.  There is a girl and she likes to lick things and cut herself.  Then we get into the meat of the story.  Five people in Buffalo, NY go to investigate the train station prison.  It is reportedly haunted and full of bad mojo.  Nothing really happens- that is until the witching hour.  That is when all hell breaks loose.  I am not exactly sure what was going on but I do know that an orange ball of light was chasing people down and people were dying and there might have been a zombie.

I rented the film through Netflix. Netflix told me based on how I rated previous films that I was going to hate this movie.  I was impressed with the opening credits.  I know it is a B movie but they were surprisingly well done.    The editing is very choppy and they do the Blair Witch handheld camera thing.  It makes the movie hard to follow and if you are prone to motion sickness or seizures you might want to avoid watching this movie altogether.  The main characters in the movie could all use a session or two with Dr. Phil.  They are all angry.  There is no character development.  I don’t even remember their names.  Overall I didn’t hate the movie.  I have seen far worse.  It isn’t great either.  It is one of those movies that is fine if you have 90 minutes to kill.  The oddest thing about the movie is the DVD itself.  There is a picture of Jesus on the DVD.  Jesus is definetly not in the movie nor is this a movie about Jesus.

Premier Glow

October 21st, 2007 by Mr. Mai Tai

I am planning a Halloween Party and decorating is always an essential part. I have been working on the decorations and Premier Glow offers a lot of great products. They make tons of different glow items and they are always fun to have on hand for a party. I love their glow sticks. They come in every imaginable color. I like to put them in my jack o’ lanterns. I usually carve three or four each year and each one will glow with a different color. I also like to place luminaries out during the holidays and they are great for that too. The glow sticks last longer than candles and are much safer. There is nothing to light so you won’t get burned and there is no danger of setting the luminary bags on fire. I also like their Glow necklaces. They come in packs of 50 and are another great party item. Kids love glow necklaces. Before they go out trick or treating I will give each one a glow necklace to wear. It makes them more visible when they are walking around especially if they wearing a dark costume. These necklaces glow for hours. I have had glow necklaces go dim after an hour. These keep on glowing strong all night. If you are throwing a party you need to have games. Games during the day are fun but games at night are even more fun. I like to do a nighttime treasure hunt. I have found that night golf balls are great for that. Sure night golf balls are great for night golf but they can be used for a whole lot more. I take the night golf balls and hide them throughout the yard. I give each kid a glow stick and let them search for the glowing treasure. Everyone has a great time. If you need any glow products I highly recommend you check out Premiere Glow. They have great glow products in tons of colors that are fun for everyone. I have ordered from them in the past and they have always delivered top quality products and have great low prices.
